When you start your journey toward getting an Ontario driver license, safety habits formed on day one stay with you for life. Learning to navigate busy roads requires more than just passing an exam; it demands a deep commitment to protecting yourself and everyone else sharing the asphalt.

The Drivisa Safe Driving Award is a special recognition program created to support young drivers in Ontario high schools by promoting responsible habits, defensive driving awareness, and community safety long before they ever sit for a road test.

Recognizing Future Leaders in Road Safety

Getting behind the wheel for the first time is a major rite of passage. However, young and novice drivers face unique challenges on provincial roads. To encourage smart decision-making and reward dedication to road safety, Drivisa established partnerships with high schools to honour students who demonstrate exemplary commitment to safe driving principles.

Rather than just focusing on mechanical vehicle control, this award highlights the mental aspects of driving. It celebrates students who standout in their community by wanting to any any STEM studies, or those who have established other fundamental support for their peers.

How the Award Supports Students

Financial pressures and the cost of education can make starting your driving journey daunting. The Drivisa Safe Driving Award helps alleviate some of those hurdles by providing financial support to deserving students throughout their higher education. This recognition helps recipients offset the costs associated with future education costs in college or university.

The Broader Impact on Ontario Communities

Safe roads begin in local neighbourhoods. When young adults learn the core tenets of defensive driving early, collision rates drop across the province. Programs that bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world application create more predictable, cautious drivers.

Initiatives like the The Drivisa Road safety Award: 5 high schools in Ontario highlight our ongoing mission to foster responsible driving habits directly within educational institutions. By engaging with students where they learn every day, we help build a culture where road safety is prioritized over speed or shortcuts.

How Can High Schools Participate?

High schools interested in granting one of their students the Drivisa Safe Driving Award can easily participate by emailing Drivisa on info@drivisa.com, ensure the title is the name of the award, and ask to participate. Drivisa will choose participating high schools in its area of work and provide either a cheque or an online donation.

Can Non-Drivisa Student win the Award/Scholarship?

NO, students who are recipients of the Drivisa Safe Driving Award are not necessarily students enrolled with Drivisa or its Driver's Ed program. Recipients can be chosen by either Drivisa or the high school depending on their merit. Award winners will be chosen based on Drivisa's internal committee, their contribution to the community and/or their future studies. Any Ontario graduate who is enrolled in any partnering high school can be eligible for the scholarship.
