NO DIFFERENCE exists. Beginner Driver Education (BDE) is a 40-hour driver training course that has been approved by the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario. It consists of 30 hours of theory and 10 hours of driving. Driving schools in Ontario both offer this course in-person and online. The Online BDE is merely an alternative delivery format for the classroom curriculum.

BDE Course is valid for 1 year after registration and certified through the Ontario Ministry of Transportation. Upon successful completion, students are eligible for insurance discounts (rates may vary depending on the provider). You may also take your G2 road test 4 months earlier.

You can use your Driver License History record, which you can obtain from an Ontario Service Center, to show your insurance provider that you have finished an MTO-approved course and are therefore qualified for a discount on your auto insurance. Since each insurer is unique, the discount percentage may change, but overall savings can reach 10%.

You will receive MTO certification after completing the Drivisa BDE course that has been approved by the MTO, which entitles you to obtain a Driver License History from an Ontario Service Center.

After completing our BDE course, Drivisa will grant you online approval. The Ministry of Transport will also recognise your completion of driving school as a result of this online report. However, you must collect your Driver’s License History from any Service Ontario Office building or make a written request for your official document to be mailed to you in order to receive official and written proof that you have finished the course.

NO, attending a driving school is not required to obtain a driver’s licence, but it is usually advised because it improves learners’ knowledge and comfort while driving to learn from qualified instructors and enrol in thorough courses. The government is working to increase road safety and decrease traffic accidents, thus it is advised that you enrol in a driving school that has received approval from the Ministry. The ability to begin the G2 road test only 8 months after passing the G1 written test is the main benefit of enrolling in a driving school with MTO approval. You will have to wait a total of 12 months if you don’t complete this driver’s education. One of the recognised driving schools, Drivisa, provides both online courses and in-person instruction with Drivisa Mobile Application
